"the purpose of fasting can be seen in the context of abstaining from an activity for a specific amount of time to focus on spiritual matters. or to put it in another way, we are to take our eyes off the things of this world to focus completely on God. fasting is a way to say to God, and to ourselves, that we are serious about our relationship with God".
lent is about sacrificing smth u reallly like, and this is the time to totally focus on Him and wat he has done for us..
oh lord, as i fast, please cleanse me from within, and reveal to me the things of the world that i cling to, Help me surrender all fo them to You.
