gong xi fa cai!

it's that time of the year again, where everything around is red, lights, house decorations, red packets, red bottled cookies, red clothes, red everything.it's also the time of the year where everybody comes back home and spends chinese new year with their loved ones. it's the one time everyone is back. everyone is on leave! it's the time to catch up on life with friends and family and relatives. it's also the time when you get to eat dishes only found at this time of the year. sister and my favourite is the first day breakfast. the fatt choi( which my parents say it looks like pubic hair), foochok, tanghoon, and i can't recall what's in it exactly, but it's just so so yummy, and both of us are like pigs every year. sitting in front of it, looking at it, waiting for everyone to sit on the table, and say " sek fan". slurrppp..we actually slurp it down c it quite soupy!!!!can't wait!!!!weeee......

it's the time of the year to give and receive. for most people, particularly the younger crowd, Chinese new year is the time to become rich!everything is $$$. they go to people's houses to get ang pow (red packets filled with money). young people now adays.sigh!i am not saying i don't enjoy it. i do, and yes, i am one of those idiots who love going ot my friends house to get these so called lucky red packets, and get excited when see lot's of people in the house. which means more ang pows. what parasites!!!!that's not the real meaning of chinese new year. it's the time to give, to receive, to forgive everyone. it's a new year for god's sake. throw your selfish ways away.in the olden days, people don't give money in those red packets. they give empty red packets. because it's not the money that brings luck, it's the red packets!!!but i have no idea how the money got in. i remember i used to even get RM1 coins. but yeah the only person who wouldgive those were my piano teacher's mum.hehe. always, RM1.50.so cute right? i personally believe though it's time for money, but i really do believe in giving people too. i am not married yet so i don't give, but i believe in giving cards. i have always believed in that. i know all of my friends ( except sweet lye choong who gave me one card, and a separate card for my family) awwww... yeah anyway, other then him, my friends don't believe in giving crds. probably think it's a waste of money. but to me, it's not, guess that's the most i can afford, and it's nice to give. you give without hoping for anything in return!basically that's how it works, not just in chinese new year, but for everything. i am brought up in a family where we give a lot and don't expect people to give us. i guessed it just rubbed off on us children too.

every day is a chinese new year if you think like this. if you only think of giving only on chinese new year or christmas, then your just being a bloody hypocrite because you don't believe in giving to others but only give during occasions because you have too. that's just being selfish, and a hypocrite!!!sorry if i offended anyone reading my blog, no intentions on hurting anyone, and it's not meant at anyone. i know not everyone thinks like me or my family, and I don't expect people to tihnk like us, but just thought i would like to share what i feel, and tell people what i think of Chinese New year.

to most of my readers who celeblate(inside joke) Chinese new year( i think it's practically all my readers because all are chinese)=) GONG XI FA CAI.xin nien kuai le!=)hope it's a fantastic year for all the 12 animals. hope it's a good year fro tigers=)dogs, pigs, ox and errr.. well let's just hope it's a good year fro everyone la. =)
